Your Handicap Index® is updated according to a revision schedule set by the regional golf association in your area. The Handicap Index display in the Members section is a snapshot of scores that were in your scoring record prior to that effective revision date. So, if you were added on June 10, but the last revision in your area was June 5, then no Handicap Index® will appear on eClubhouse until after the next revision.

In addition, your club can only issue you a Handicap Index® after at least five scores have been posted, in accordance with the USGA Handicap System.

Any score posted using the eClubhouse feature "myStats Scores" can be edited on eClubhouse. However, if "Post Scores to GHIN" was chosen when the score was posted, the score will have to be changed in your record on the GHIN Server as well by contacting your Golf Club.

To modify a score in eClubhouse, use the "Display/Update Rounds" option in "myStats Reports". Locate the score to be modified and chose "edit".

The purpose of the NCGA/USGA Handicap System is to make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling golfers of differing abilities to compete on an equitable basis. The System provides fair Course Handicaps for players regardless of ability, and adjusts a player’s Handicap Index up or down as one’s game changes. At the same time, it disregards high scores that bear little relation to the player’s potential ability and promotes continuity by making handicaps continuous from one playing season or year to the next. A USGA Handicap Index is useful for all forms of play. A basic premise underlies the USGA Handicap System, namely that every player will try to make the best score at each hole in every round, regardless of where the round is played, and that the player will post every acceptable round for peer review.

Yes. Effective January 1, 2002, the NCGA/USGA Handicap System allows clubs the option to have their members occasionally post scores via the Internet. Such an option is designed to fill in for those rare occasions when a golfer may not be able to post their score at the golf course at which they completed their round (i.e., rounds completed at dusk when the posting PC is not available). It is NOT intended that golfers post the majority of their scores in this manner.

The handicap index information listed on the website represents a Current Handicap Index Inquiry service only. It does not represent a Scores Posted Confirmation service. The information that appears is only updated once a month on the first of the month. Scores posted throughout the month will not appear via this website until the following month. Golfers who have not renewed their NCGA membership through a club and who, therefore, are not on an active roster at an NCGA club will not find a current Handicap Index or listing of scores. Golfers added to a roster mid-month will not appear on the website until the following month.

Contact your NCGA club. The club will change the address or spelling of your name by computer or send us notification of the change. If your address changes, inform your club IMMEDIATELY. Your address must be current and correct in order for you to receive your NCGA membership card as well as the NCGA Golf Magazines and information from your club.

A complete listing can be found in the Bluebook edition of the NCGA Golf Magazine and on the Calendar of Events that is furnished to every member club and is available on the website. Currently there are more than 100 tournaments in the Points Program. They include all USGA and NCGA Championships as well as city and county championships and regional tournaments.

The NCGA does not require it although some tournament officials do. However, only active NCGA members can earn points. This is especially important in Four-Ball events where points are awarded to both members of the team. Unless both are NCGA members no points are awarded.

An eClub is one of the new “Type 3” clubs that is being allowed by the USGA. eClubs are Internet-based clubs usually for members who did not have any prior affiliation and a majority of the recruiting and sign-up was done by solicitation to the general public (i.e., Internet, newspaper).

eClub San Francisco is a new and easy way to become a member of the NCGA. eClub San Franciscohas been made available for all golfers in San Francisco with the intentions of encouraging current non-NCGA members to join the NCGA via this easy and affordable option. eClub San Francisco will function as an NCGA Associate Club.

The NCGA will consider playing requirements met if each member returns at least three scores played with other club members during the season and at least one of these rounds is played in a club sponsored event. Anyone not meeting this minimum requirement may be dropped from the handicap rolls.
